Allen Count, Ind., Sheriff's Office
Michael Len Plumadore was held without bond after his arrest Monday night in the death of Aliahna Lemmon, 9.
Updated at 7:57 p.m. ET: Michael Len Plumadore, the man accused of killing and dismembering 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon at his home in Fort Wayne, Ind., has been on the run for 11 years for battery of a Florida law enforcement officer.
Florida Department of Correction records show that Plumadore, now 39, fled the state after he was sentenced to a year in prison in May 2000. Details of the incident in Miami Beach weren't immediately available.
Updated at 6:45 p.m. ET: The Associated Press, quoting one of the 15 sex offenders living at Northway Woods, reported that Aliahna Lemmon's mother had recently moved to the trailer park to take care of her father, James E. Lemmon, a convicted sex offender who had emphysema.
James Lemmon died Dec. 3 at age 66, Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home of Hamilton said. State prison records show that he was convicted March 6, 2006, of child molestation.
The official cause of Aliahna's death was pending completion of an autopsy Wednesday, but a preliminary coroner's report concluded that "the manner of death was homicide."
Original post: The Indiana trailer park that was home to 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon — whose dismembered body was found this week — is also home to an extraordinary number of registered sex offenders, police and court records show.
An affidavit filed Tuesday by Allen County sheriff's investigators said Michael Len Plumadore, 39, of the Northway Woods trailer park in Fort Wayne, confessed to having killed and dismembered Aliahna on Friday. Her head, hands and feet were found in a freezer in Plumadore's home; the rest of her body was scattered elsewhere in the area.
Plumadore was held without bail Tuesday pending formal charges.
Plumadore lives in the same trailer park as Aliahna — who a relative said was partly blind and deaf — and her two younger sisters, and he often baby-sat for them. The girls had been staying with Plumadore for about a week because their mother was ill.
The affidavit doesn't say why Plumadore would have wanted to kill Aliahna. He isn't on the county's sex offender registry — court records show only convictions for trespassing, assault and auto theft in Florida and North Carolina.
(The initial version of this post Tuesday said the nature of Aliahna's murder would qualify for adjudication under the section of the Indiana Code that includes the state's version of Megan's Law, a national template for monitoring and registration of sex offenders. Authorities clarified Wednesday that Plumadore's case would qualify for a possible death penalty prosecution because the homicide meets two of three standards in the code: Aliahna was under the age of 12, and she was dismembered.)
Northway Woods is one of an increasing number of isolated locations around the country that have become havens for registered sex offenders, who in most states must not live within a certain distance of places where children congregate, such as schools and churches.
The Allen County sheriff's registry shows that 15 sex offenders live at Northway Woods, a small mobile home park with 54 lots, only about 25 of which are occupied. Among them are men with multiple felony convictions for sexual abuse of a minor and child molestation.
In other words, three-fifths of the occupied units house a registered sex offender. That's an extraordinary concentration in Indiana, which has only 137 registered sex offenders per 100,000 population — the third-lowest ratio among all 50 states, according to data compiled by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Sex offender registry map from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children(.pdf)
Seven other registered offenders live within 2 miles of the trailer park, the registry shows — meaning nearly 5 percent of all of the county's 537 registered sex offenders live within a short walk of one another.
"You see it on TV all the time in other states, in other places, but this is in our own backyard," said Kathleen McKee, who lives in the Northway Woods park. "It's in our own home, and it's scary."
"I feel for the family, because I have three children myself — two daughters and a son," McKee told NBC station WISE of Fort Wayne. "I can't imagine what that family is feeling, especially around Christmas time."
Before he was arrested, Plumadore gave a brief interview Monday morning to WISE. The station hasn't aired the interview, but it reported that Plumadore said he was going in to take a polygraph test and that he, too, was eager to find Aliahna.
WISE constructed and aired this timeline of the hours leading up to Plumadore's arrest:

I live in Florida! Where did this creep get charged? The AWFUL part of this whole thing is that some attorney WILL take the case and try his/her best to get him off of the charges. That is proven by the the 15 other sex-offenders living free in the trailer park with him. Sick.
Save the cost of a trial. Take him out back and let one of the little girls family members take care of him...
No the awful part was the crime. Lawyers act to insure the laws are followed. Like it or not everyone has the right to representation otherwise the law has no meaning. I would not like to lve in a country without due process,
Why is that the awful part?
We are going to have to be much more selective about who we send to jail.
We have overcrowded prisons - which you would expect in the country that has the highest percentage of it's population imprisoned in the world (not Iran, Russia, North Korea, or China).
It's a "free" country with more ways to go to jail than you can fit in a lawyer's library.
For every pot smoker in prison, we have to release a sex offender or other violent criminal.
There are many "crimes" that we would be better off not prosecuting so that we can save space for the really bad guys.
My standard threshold is : "Is there a victim?"
If there isn't one - give them a fine or other penalty.
We need to focus all our energies on the really evil people.
And some people like child molesters should never be let out of prison.
Same for murderers.
To do that, we have to look at who we can release, what we can decriminalize.
I feel so bad for this girl. I can't even imagine her terror.
Do you think that we could arrange for him to Pakistan wearing a Tee-Shirt that says something negative about Allah? Air Fare would be less than imprisonment or even a death penalty.
Dianna:
As bad as this makes you feel everyone accused of a crime is entitled to a defense; defense lawyers are supposed to make a zealous defense of their client. I. for one, am glad of that. How many people are wrongly accused? Thousands. How many are convicted? Way too many.
Here's the thing. When a sex offender is caught, tried and convicted, if the state has the death penalty, here's a good place to use it. if not, throw them in a maximum security prison without protection from the inmates. They'll handle the rest.
Well, I am sure we would be far better off if we got rid of the lawyers and adopted a system like Al Qaeda. That way you could just kill whoever the hell you want. You can then claim anything without offering evidence, don't have to have trials, yeah sounds like a marvelous place. Just when you do establish such a system do me the favor and take it somewhere else.
I particularly find this kind of ridiculous for anyone in America to say because according to USA Today 1 out of 3 Americans are arrested before they turn 23. We are way past the point of being a police state.
OK all you non believers" Do you want him to burn in the depths of damn nation for ever lasting life or not !"
Get a Flame Thrower and GET TO WORK!
Dianna; this horrible act is beyond belief; yes, the court will appoint a IDO lawyer, paid for by the State, and his sworn duty will be to defend a unspeakable crime to the best of his legal ability, ( to do otherwise will get him/her disbarred), and after this animal is convicted the attorney will go outside and shout thank God the justice system got rid of this subhuman, animal . That is how the system works.
Torture that piece of trash to death IMMEDIATELY. That poor little girl and her family deserve no less. Political correctness be damned in cases like this. The heinous killing of innocent children must be punished without hesitation. The world is going to s**t and sanity MUST regain control.
my goodness are the hens ruffling the feathers over this.
to repoint out, something msnbc, has not done...
1 this was not a "haven" for child molesters.. it was one of few places a convicted child molester can live, due to the rules for them to be around children.
2 this guy was not a sex offender until, possibly now. it said in the article the death would fall under a sexual charge, but do you know why? Because when he dismembered the body he removed the clothes at some point. it doesnt matter if she was dead before hand, the clothes were removed, before or during dismemberment. The fact it also was a child he did this to. As well other little things to go along with, even if he did not molest her. not taking his side, but setting the fact a little more on the path it is, not what some nuts want it to be.
3 you have to have a place for sexual predators to live. we either kill them, keep them in prison, or find a way to let them live on the outside of prison... such as in this case. These very people can not be a certain distance within children zones. Schhols, parks, playgrounds, fairs, you name it, if there is a child involved at any point, they are forbidden. As long as they abide by release, who gives a sh!t. they are out of the penal system, and those with a weak tummy who can not bear to see these people put to death, made it so. you government makes the rules... talk to them about it if you dont like these people living in one area where they are easier to manage. Tell them you want them to stay in prison after their sentence so they can rot, or be put to death.
Parents need to make themselves aware of the dangers surrounding our children. I dont think for a second, this woman would have ever dreamed of this guy killing her daughter... most people dont untill it is too late. Could be this guy never would have harmed her, but something happend. we dont look for answers to problems, we beat the problem with a stick, vs finding a solution that works, or a actual way of preventing things like this from happening.
personally, i would like to see a frontal lobotomy done, and the people put to a remedial job, like putting tape on a box, if they'd be able to that yet. Toss in castration to be safe, but then we have civil rights for prisoners...dont we? i as said before, dont think this woman had any concerns.. why would she? if you also think childmolesters once released have free run of the earth think again. when released, they are on supervision. so be that the case, this guy wasnt one of them. she might have trusted him because he WASNT a child molester... ever think of that? take a look at the Bonet case from the 80's. the girl was killed while there was a party going on at the house... with people there when it happend. Rich people, not the tools you hear about here on the news. why dont some of you stand up and demand justice for her? Ask her mother and father why they chose to be wealthy and be with the to-do crowd... their daughter would, might still be alive today dont ya think? blame everyone but dont blame yourself right? WE as a society dont condone violence, death, or other for such people. we want to keep them locked up like animals, giving us a false security, because these very animals get released eventually... to go back and repeat enough times to make the 1st crime they were tossed in prison for, look like a misdemeanor.
so, rather blame the parents... blame the guy who did this, or blame who you feel like from the president on down... get up off your azz, look in the mirror... you help put these people back on the streets. You elected the officials that made the laws, to protect you... you support everyone but the right one... you.
This is tragic. My only question is after the body parts were found in his home why wasn't he immediately shot in the back of the head. Oh we need to try this sack of @!$%#. Oh he has rights. Screw that! The only reason this continues is because there are bleeding hearts that don't give a damn about the victim. When the men of this country start standing up for their famiies this kida @!$%# will stop. Which would these creep rather face a punk with a badge and a judge, or a pissed father?
This clown needs waterboarded to discover if they're other victems. Then either wack him or sentenced him to hard labor. These sick bastards need to PAY for their upkeep. It is rediculous to import goods made in Red China by prison labor when we got our own prisoners sittin in AC and watchin TV.
@jane-cyden Uh, okay. Making laws that say you can't live in this area, does not mean you all go living in the SAME trailer park. No red flags there.
Don't pretend that there isn't something creepy about a guy who ends up dismembering a child living in the same trailer park as guys who've been convicted of molesting children. Don't pretend like the possibility of a connection is some kind of great stretch.
I get sick of hearing we have to give the murderer, predator, etc.. a fair trial - Who gives the victim a fair trial? I was beaten and molested from the age of 2years old until 15 when I ran away from home to escape from a step-dad (oh he was no dad). I found out later in life he molested my older sister, his own niece who was mentally ill, neighborhood friends of mine. etc. Of course he threatened us. I am a Christian but I also know that God is the judge and jury, not a jury with people on it. An eye for an eye - Yep. I spoke with a sexual predator at a seminar I was at and he was a speaker. He verified he will never be healed and he just prays he will stay under control. I told him I felt he was using God as a shield and was an evil person. Within one year it was found out he had been molesting all along. It made me a better parent albeit a paranoid one, now I am a paranoid grandmother. Those who protect these evil people have never been through abuse or they may be abusers themselves. Harsh, damn right!!
john-537378;
I totally agree. Give him his due process. Then execute him!
@ john-537378 What kind of due process did that 9 year old little girl have? Did she asked to kit hit in the head with a brick and dismembered? You and all the due processors like you can move to an island and practice that BS.
For me I'll take the eye for an eye stance and make sure he suffers the miserable death he deserves. He doesn't need a trial and spend hard working tax payers dollars.
Bring Back public executions!
who represented the little girl john?
What the hell is wrong with humans??? What a piece of human garbage!! Sick!!!
Putting wicked people back into civilization is like putting grizzly bears in Central Park.
The injection is too easy a way out, clean, fast, and painless. House the bastard in prison with general population. Let the cellmates to know who he is. The justice will be taken care of.
Two words:
LIBERAL JUDGES.
He told the police he did it ( and proved it by having the body parts)..if he tells the judge he did it (that he's guilty)... no trial is needed! Just the sentencing part needs a hearing.
jonjojon, Better yet, why not place some tattoos on his arms. face and hands saying bad things about Allah, then send him to Pakistan!
While everyone gets worked up over the headline "Haven for Sex Offenders" it might be noted that this guy was NOT a registered sex offender. Shame on you MSNBC for trying to stir up the lynch mob against sex offenders when it was one of the "upstanding citizens" of the trailer park who killed this little girl. As for "liberal judges"? Shame on YOU bubba. You don't know what the judge who gets this case will do and you don't even know what judge will get the case. And this guy wasn't even a prior sex offender. So EXACTLY what is it you want people to do when they have no prior of this kind of thing and you don't know what the sentence is going to be? Oh yeah, I forgot. You're just here to blabbermouth.
That's the dumbest thing I've seen in a few days. According to you, people accused of crimes don't need a fair trial. I'm assuming because we don't need a fair trial as you say, that we don't need courts, we don't need an investigation since we don't have a court to put the evidence in.
Let's look at how such a asinine system would work in reality. Steven Barnes (Link to KTUU Story) spent 20 years in prison for a rape and murder he didn't commit. He was exonerated only after many appeals and a DNA test proved he didn't do it. Under your system Steven would have been accused and then the police would of rolled over to him and shot him dead! No trial, no investigation, no evidence, he would of just been summarily executed 20 years ago.
Then you want to dare talk about what "god" would do. Well, let's see what god would do. On judgement day when Jesus looks you in your eyes and ask why you murdered Steven Barnes, what will you say? Oh, I didn't? I just voted for the law? I just advocated it?
If you were a Christian you would be aware of the story of Sodom. You would be aware that this god you profess said to Abraham's queries that even if there was one innocent person in Sodom, he would not destroy it. Hate to be harsh but you are no Christian and you are no better than the murders and rapist you point the finger at. According to your own words, you'd kill innocent people too.
Aye people, just because he wasn't a "registered sex offender" doesn't mean he wasn't a sex offender. Come on now, I've driven over the speed limit and just because I didn't get caught doesn't mean I didn't do something wrong.
Very good Devil: A thumbs up to you.
I agree with Ryan in Texas. We need to prioritize who goes to prison, and who gets out. We simply don't have room for all of them. People who commit victimless crimes, like smoking pot, should be the lowest priority. We can't have our cake and eat it too.
If this guy is convicted he should be executed or spend the rest of his life in prison if there's room.
The Devil is speaking for rights of animals, not human beings. this is not some simple case of robbery at night or a fight of passion.
Having lived abroad esp. in the Middle East, and in Arabia where one's children are safe as well as their mothers and car window open with belongings in the car in plain sight, America needs to be a Republic again where the majority's interests are protected...the reason we have so many in prison, Devil is because we have too many Americans doing what they please and out of control; and we, the People have not been killing these wild beasts off.
Why let them live...to what purpose and end...and why should I pay for their upkeep for it is they not I who have violated the public's safety and too often our children's lives.
Perhaps if we were more devout like our Moslem brothers, we would save the inncocents from the criminals. If they steal ... whack the offending had .... if they rape ... molest them or kill them as up to the family and not some liberal sorry leftists ... if they murder then to the chair and send the power bill to their family who should have provided a better home or discipline than they did not...
And for the druggees ... too bad ... get rid of these losers too....we punish smokers and alcoholics to generate a cash rich criminal system full of lawyers and judges feeding at the public trough and at our personal, family and financial expense.
This unholy alliance between these we-think-we-are-bad-a$$e$ needs to end. And for crime and gangs in our inner cities, let the old and new Vets go int heir and clean these dogs out once and for all.
There are no reasons to let live or go unpunixhed criminals of any sort. It is not society's problem but one of their lack of self-discipline and our leader's refusal to end their miserbale existence and save the lot of us from their barbaric and inhumane behavior.
No prison for this butcher ... go to the the chair ... go directly to the chair ... do not collect public defense money ... and advance to 200KW of all-American juice... to be followed by those in prison awaiting appeal or execution .... make 2012 the time we took back our cities and safety from those who refuse to act on our behalf and let's end the vicious circle of recycling this garbage in and out of our society.
The prisoners are not as bad as they think when they see televised live their fellow freaks fried alive ... and knowing they are next. Justice without final punishment is no justice for all. If this was my daughter, anyone between him and I would be treated the same .... lawyer or no lawyer ... no need for prisoner justice as they need to be gone from this time, space and dimension like yesterday.
No sympathy for Devil's friends as he sees their rights over the majority's rights in this Republic gone wild.
proof that the far right has no interest in justice, only bloodthirsty vengeance.
lock the cretin up and forget about him.
When I see some of the posts addressing whether this neighborhood was a 'haven' for registered sex offenders or just one of the last places left in that area where they could legally live, it does make me think of the old NRA adage about when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. In this case, when those convicts who have subsequently followed the law by registering and abiding by living where they're not excluded by statute, only those municipalities that haven't banned them are going to have them. Of course, this does nothing for those who have never been tried and convicted, or those who fail to register and live wherever they please. Still something to think about next time our politicians get a 'great idea' about how to handle one of the world's many problems...
I would like to live in a country where this man gets his due process... and, being found guilty, is taken out and hanged the next morning to save taxpayers millions in endless appeals, incarceration, and health care.
That country sounds great to me!
the celt-3775148, the prosecutor will be representing the victim. That's the way the system works.
www.loserblog.com
Lot of liberal vs conservative shat going on here. Like you morons can only think in your little left vs right box. A little girl was murdered and all you azzholes can do is argue about why the left or the right is bad.
At the end of the day we as a society do not protect our children. That says more about us as a nation than anything else ever could.
#1.25
Exactly. I'm not sure exactly what the author of this article had in mind other than trying to insinuate the blame of the child's death onto the backs of the prior sex offenders and start the hatred to get them evicted from where they apparently are causing no problems now. It seems the very intent of this article was to take the venom belonging to this child's murderer and pointing it into the direction of prior convictees. This article was made to simply incite hatred towards people innocent of this crime.
Wrow wrow, there's peds on this blog.
Two more words:
Bull @!$%#
Judges are forced to let criminals go free because of weakly worded laws and crowded jails full of people convicted of marijuana possession. Weak post and mind.
You stated this devil
He was exonerated only after many appeals and a DNA test proved he didn't do it.
This is the problem with our justice system these criminals have unlimited appeals at their disposal tying up the court systems for years with their stupidity knowing full well they are guilty. They should get ONE appeal and thats it period.
And you stated this
Under your system Steven would have been accused and then the police would of rolled over to him and shot him dead! No trial, no investigation, no evidence, he would of just been summarily executed 20 years ago.
And your problem with this is what exactly? sounds like a good plan to me.
I'm a firm advocate of bringing back public executions for capital crimes and humiliation and lashings for lesser offenses. Build a scaffold in every town center and make sure all the little tough guy thugs have a front row seat to watch a killer or rapist drop to the end of that rope and do the devils dance. Hanging is a gruesome way to die but its worse to watch and hear that neck snap. You'd drop one in every city on one given day you'd see a drop in violent crimes overnight across the country. The problem today is we've allowed the courts prisons to get soft and coddle these thugs and slap them on the wrist when they should be getting 50 lashes with a bull whip. Prisons are a joke anymore hell they have it better in prison than most people have it in their own homes. 3 square meals a day, room and board, full blown cable TV,air conditioning and any other thing that the bleeding heart liberals can think to hand these creeps. They say putting them in prison and actually make them serve hard time is cruel and unusual punishment........YOUR IN PRISON ITS SUPPOSED TO CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. Bring back the chain gangs to fix these crappy roads in this country make them work to get their meals. What this country needs is a tough S.O.B. like Arizona Joe in that Whitehouse you definitely see a change in this country and quick
I think ebay's got a special going on torches and pitchforks...
See that little souvenir on the side of the guy's head? Almost certainly frontal lobe brain damage. Head, hands, feet removed: straight from Bones or one of the other 'police' shows to hide identification, regular little cooking channels for mayhem. But think of it, what this guy did is what our elite has done to a hundred thousand Iraqi children while they were still alive. And millions of children in our history. Where's your horror over that? Or is your lack of horror over that exactly what produces personalities such as this? Is he simply the reflection of America's own disdain for the lives of children? If all of us responsible for dismembering children were locked up, the walls around America would make the world a safer place and keep predictable pathology, as manifested here, amongst our own. As a brave population might produce many heroes and a smart population many geniuses, we produce many psychopaths. Ever wonder about that? Ever read American history other than the candy coated version fed to us in school? We deserve these people. Certainly our children don't until we raise them to be us. As long as we celebrate the Freedom to lie, cheat, steal, and murder at will which our elite values above all else and we, as a people, worship because our 'betters' do, we will see these things happen over and over again. These people are not produced in a vacuum but grow out of the pool of latent values that form us all. Just like our common genepool produces physical deformities in some of us, our common value pool produces mental deformities in some of us. This guy may have had help from his head injury in his (alleged) inability to resist his own deformity. But he came from us, all of us. And, again, if you read history, you will soon see that the Euroization of America came entirely from killing all of the aboriginal children, whether by sword or disease. Does having a 'reason', such as spreading christianity (the usual reason in American history), make the murder of children any different from this? These people are just symptoms of what lurks in all of us and is what allows our elite to use us so easily to slaughther others for their own gain. We don't need to lock these people up or hang them or torture and murder them although we must do something. We need to heal ourselves from these values that allow us, as a nation, to be induced to mass murder of innocents. We need to embrace Thou Shalt Not Kill as though it meant something to us. One murder, call it execution or justice or war or police brutality, justifies all other murders. When we as a People cease to murder guiltlessly, we as individuals may have greater hesitation as well. And this poison comes to us from our own elite who value only money and their own safety and comfort, who promote disregard for life so to more easily manipulate us into killing for their sole benefit. This girl's death was 'collateral damage' from that only. This man is us and we will produce many more of these until we erase those psychopaths who rule us and influence our beliefs. Just sayin'...
rainman; that bubble is made of Kevlar - I shoot it all the time and haven't popped it yet. The bubble only knows how to blame others - it never sees its self as part of the problem.
I bet the people who go before Judges don't think they are liberal....got any names of these liberal judges, just in case I ever screw up?
There is more to this story than the media has released - like how mom knows and why she trusted this guy. A woman came over to a neighbors house who wasn't home - I had never met this gal before, but she wanted to leave her 1 or 2 year old child at my home so she could go party. I told her she better get lost before I called the cops. Another gal approached me as I was about to enter a lounge and she was leaving - she asked me to drive her home. It's a damn good thing it was me and not some rapist - I gave her the ride, but it still seems like it wasn't real....what are people thinking these days?
yep and the neanderthals here would be screaming for more
oh goody, we can be just like saudi arabia, that is the way the christotaliban wants it
We live in a country where the government absolutely LOVES sex offenders like rapists and child molesters more than pot smokers. Hey federal law makers action speaks louder than words. When I was growing up I was always coming up with some grand scheme that I would brag to my dad about that I usually would not follow through on. He would always tell me that old cliche (action speaks louder than words) and then he would say: show me don't tell me, usually followed by: put up or shut up.
I really love the old saying that is so very true: man made booze, god made pot, who do you trust. Here's a little insight on those bible thumpers and EXTREME right-wingers (maybe not necessarily the closer to the middle right-wingers, but the crazy ones, you know the ones): they'll go and maybe have a beer or two or cocktail but then turn around and get all self rightous and trash pot. Can you see the hypocricy in this. They CLAIM to trust god but they will NOT partake of what GOD provides but what is Man made. Get caught with pot and ABSOLUTELY go to prison. Commit a sex offence maybe do a little tiny bit of time and a little counseling and go free.

Yes, the constitutional guarantees that keep this country from being a police state like North Korea where you can be put in jail for 20 years with no trial is just horrible.
While it does seem sad and frustrating that these people have to have a defense to fight for them...The truth is, we should not want it any other way, because, think about how many more people would be jail or executed for crimes they did not commit or maybe they truly have a mental illness that should not warrant them for punishment, but help.
Wrong location of this post.
Ever heard of the Constitution? Seriously, what do you think the Bill of Rights is for? It exists to protect the rights of all, including the minority, from the majority. The founders understood quite well the dangers of 'majority rule' in terms of individual rights.
Seriously, your comment is one of the most misinformed I have ever came across on the vine. You're talking about 'going back' to the way it was, funny thing is... THAT WAY NEVER EXISTED in the United States.
It never ceases to amaze me just how UN-American these so-called patriotic flag-wavers can be.
And how do we know that you aren't a sex offender, AD? Can you prove that? Just because you haven't been caught yet...
This is the problem with your statement. THE MAN WAS INNOCENT! It took several appeals to prove that. That's the fault of inept courts and attorneys, not the appeals process.
My problem with this exactly is THE MAN WAS INNOCENT! Apparently, you're not able to grasp this very simple fact. If you think this is a good plan, let's falsely accuse you of a felony, get you convicted, and then see how you feel about the appeals process. I'm sure you'll be willing to waive your right to trial and get right to the execution, won't you?
C'mon people, a poor little girl died, it's tragic. But for every lets just shoot the person who we THINK did it, your losing your rationality and brain power due to anger and blood lust. This man deserves to be killed, if he did it, but that needs to be determined and proven first. Their is a reason our criminal system is what it is, it's because mob rule and lynchings (which is what many are infering) wind up killing the wrong guy too often....and once is too often. Even with our current protections we still wrongly convict the innocent, and we do it on a somewhat regular basis. That is with all of the protections we have, and we are supposed to strip those down? What, so more innocent people are put in prison or to death?
This board is a perfect example of the idiocy of America shining through, I have no idea why I read it to be honest.
And one other thing, these girls (since there were 2 sisters as well) were living in a trailer park full of sex offenders. The girls mother (daughter of a child molester) asks a neighbor to watch the kids because she is ill. And the neighbor, who is one of the few non-sex offenders, kills her daughter. Her mother gets the grand prize for reckless parenting, what the heck was she thinking?
her mother should be charged for endangerment in the least
screwdallas2: "C'mon people, a poor little girl died, it's tragic. But for every lets just shoot the person who we THINK did it, your losing your rationality and brain power due to anger and blood lust."
Her body parts were found IN his house and he CONFESSED. Who else do you think did it?!
I know that Minnesota has extremely strong sex offender laws. They cannot live within a few miles of a school, their neighbors are notified of him when he moves in, etc. Lots of Sex Offenders in Minnesota move down here into Iowa, because to satisfy requirements, a few of them had to live under a bridge. This guy did whatever he did, then killed and dismembered that poor little girl. He doesn't deserve to get out of prison anyway. Let the prisoners take care of him. They all happen to have children too.
I must admit that I am a bit confused. The girls stayed with him for a WEEK? The mother was too ill to care for her children for a full week? I know the flu can last a week, but toward the end of three for four days a person is able to function. They may not feel up to snuff, but they can certainly care for their children. Something about this just doesn't make sense. This child reportedly had mental problems and PTSD. Why? What has been happening to her in her short life that she should suffer such a traumatic experience that it would cause PTSD? That being the case, why would the parents not keep her safe and secure in their home? Even if the woman was sick, a 9 year old is able to pour a bowl of cereal and make a sandwich. I don't think we know the whole story here and I wonder if we ever will. This is very strange.
What ALL of you people that have lynch mob mentality and are too STUPID and RETARDED to understand and don't have the brains to grasp is that without due process and a professional CIVILIZED objective trial that even with these things (due process an trial) that mistakes can be made and truly INNOCENT people can be convicted. I'm not saying everybody has lynch mob mentality I'm just talking to the IDIOTS that do. If you FOOLS had your way that a person need only be accused of a crime and you IDIOTS would have the person put under the prison and throw away the key. The problem with that thinking is that you dumda$$e$ don't stop to think what if the falsely ACCUSED person was framed or truly is innocent and you FOOL IDIOTS had your way and put the person away then where is the TRUE offender? They are still free having a good ol' time out on the street offending and offending over and over again while you IDIOT SELF RIGHTEOUS FOOLS are so full and proud of yourselves not seeing that you caused an innocent American to be locked up. So really part of the blame in these cases (where there wasn't thorough and professional investigation of these offences) is your fault. It has happened it is happening and will happen again unless the courts and you idiot retards get your sht together and quit acting like the low life trash that is on the jerry springer show. That is ALL that is on his show is bottom dwelling, scum sucking, low life TRASH.
Colorblind - In the different news stories that I have read on this case, the child had some blindness, deafness and ADD, as well as, some other mental issues. Most of this sounds as if she was born with these issues.
There is anger and frustration out there over this event, but just like everyone else and no matter the cruelity of the crime, he has the right to a fair trial. I would want to kill this guy myself, but what would that make me? Or you?
TR...I absolutely agree. Due process is the crux of our legal system and, for all its' flaws, it is still the best legal system in the world IMHO. I was just questioning the circumstances of the whole thing. It doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. I think there are issues and things that we don't know about and I hope that due process will bring those issues to light.
I have lived 69 years, and have never one time seen a "parent" who has been proven to kill their own children/child, been given the death penalty??? I have never and will never be able to grasp this kind of society. Can't exactly blame that on the legal system - the jury decides. In this case I can not add anything of value, as all these fine folks have done a super job dissecting the problem. We have enough problems in this country without trying to decide who is and who is not worthy of a trial. That would really muddy up the water.
Such a horrible death for a child - words can't really do justice here. My sympathy to her family and friends.
Have you forgotten that Dorothy Ruetiers is on death row?
MLIrons:
Yours is one of the few comments I agree with 100%. (#1.47)
Too many of you seem to like vigilante justice and want to scrap our Bill of Rights...yet you probably disagree with the Muslim Sharia Law and its doctrine of "eye for an eye" punishment. What is the difference?
Where I am from, you are not allowed to claim insanity if you mutilate and scatter the body or destroy evidence in any way. If you tamper with evidence, that is proof in itself that you are aware of right and wrong and are completely sane.
The laws create 'havens' like this. When you live in a city and the law says an offender can't live within so many miles of a school, daycare, etc it creates pockets like this. I am not faulting the mother, but if I had checked this registry and saw 15 offenders lived there (including my father), I would not have taken my little girl there. Hell, I may have put dad in a nursing home.
The registry only works when people check it.
Yet not a single one of the registered offenders had anything to do with her disappearance or murder. Just goes to show the false sense of security the registry gives.
Hit the nail on the head. Scarlet letter is alive and well. A magic registry is helpful, but won't protect your children. That said, there is always the chance to re-offend, which depends on how well psychological profiling can identify potential recidivists.
I agree. It's amazing how the writers of the article were more concerned with sex offenders living in concentrated areas, while the crime in the story was committed by a non sex offender. Where in the hell did journalism make that stretch? Plus the article fails to mention that BECAUSE of laws that prohibit sex offenders from living within 1000 yards of a school, that often leads to very few areas in a community with they can abode. So, trailer parks and apartments within those holes of coverage are where sex offenders flock to live. It's getting to be where sex offenders can't live in some communities and counties, but the ones on parole and probation arent allowed to live outside of those communities due to their parole stipulations. Society loves to throw knee-jerk solutions at problems, but fail to consider the impacts and ramifications. Even in this article where there are registered offenders, registering themselves as living in that trailer park (as opposed to those who don't register), it's the non sex offender committing the heinous crime. Just goes to show that no amount of monitoring, incarcerations, or registering will stop a non sex offender from committing many more crimes by the national numbers. All this country is doing is creating more and more registered sex offenders every year until their numbers will be too big to just push them off into someone else's community, and you can't lock them all up because of their rights and the cost to the state. And the idea of shooting them all is just as immoral and barbaric as the crimes they commit. So, the average joe schmoe trying to protect their kids, needs to stay more informed by knowing who lives in their neighborhood, and telling their kids to stay away from that house or person. They need to teach their kids about such people and sex, and the vulnerabilities they have. They need to accept that if it wasnt sex offenses grabbing their kids from them, it's always something else, such as drugs, bad friends, bad lovers, angry exes, the government, TV, the Internet, etc. Start blaming yourselves as parents and prepare your kids better for an evil society, rather than filling them with cotton candy knowledge as you let them loose on the streets, in a mall, a movie theater, etc. to be annihilated by society. You know who sex offenders and other types of offenders prey on the most? The weak, lonely, slow prey. Just like the wild. If you don't keep your kids where they need to be grouped, strong, and protected, then they're going to eventually get picked off. Most likely by someone in your own family that you never suspected. Not the SO down the street, but that nice ball coach, teacher, preacher. Stop living with your heads in the sand trying to pin scarlet letters on the bad guys, and consider if you're doing enough as a parent to protect your kids. It's not 1950 anymore, or even 1990, where your kids could roam from here to kingdom come without worry. There's more and more people on this earth every day, and people are getting squeezed closer and closer together with fewer resources. Time to keep your kids and resources close, and keep them out of harms way. You're not going to keep evil from walking the streets. You can't afford it.
Looks like it gave this a$$hole a semse of security living among his own kind. Or is it just a coincidence that he lives where 15 out of the 25 homes have sex offenders in them? Kill 'em all and let God sort them out.....
Also goes to show how irresponsible MSNBC is becoming. the sex offender angle was pertinent in the beginning, before they knew Plumadore did it. But now they do and the new FR story talks all about the sex offender angle, even though they know it wasnt one of those people who was responsible for this
Why is this the title of this article? The sex offenders had NOTHING to do with this and yet MSNBC turns all the attention to them. The article should be WHY this man did this and on him not that 15 sex offenders live in the same park. WHAT does that have to do with what this monster did to this child??? They didn't do it. They didn't kill this baby and dismember her. MSNBC is really starving for news. Makes me sick that instead of reporting on the REAL story they have to make it all about people who had NOTHING AT ALL to do with this little girl's death. Shame on MSNBC
According to the info released thus far, sex offenders seem to have nothing to do with this. So, I question why is the article harping on sex offenders living in a trailer park. While we don't know the full details, it is conceivable this guy could have molested the girl and then killed her or perhaps was selling her to one of the other residents. Bash a kid's head in with a brick makes me believe you could do anything. But I do agree the reporting thus far has been typical yellow journalism.
It almost always is someone the child knows, sad that parents would leave these children with a monster not knowing what he was capable of...if people can't watch their own kids don't have them!
Just for clarification, "Plumadore isn't on Allen County's registry". It never said he wasn't on a registry anywhere, just not on Allen County's registry. Stay tuned because before its over, I bet he turns out to be a repeat sex offender.
First, we need to pull all those with statutory rape cases from the registry.
We have got to separate the evil from the bad.
Second, we can't keep allowing places to barre offenders from living there. It just pushes them out to where there are less police and victims with less parental supervision.
I know - NIMBY. But where do you think they go? Someone else's backyard.
We don't have registries for murder. Or armed robbery. Wouldn't you like to know if they live next door?
I have checked my neighborhood, and encourage everyone to do it.
But even if there are no offenders nearby, keep an eye on your kids. It breaks my heart to think of what this girl went through in her final moments.
You can also get on that registry for being caught urinating in public, or skinny dipping in a lake. regardless of whether there was anyone around to see your evil nakedness.
Stay tuned because before its over, I bet he turns out to be a repeat sex offender.
I bet he doesnt. They have already checked his records and listed them in the other three articals about this story. I think they would have mentioned it before now if he was on ANY registry. However, that does not mean he didnt do something before he hit her with a brick. just because he is not on some registry does not mean he isnt an offender, but MSNBC is still being irresponsible with this third and latest writing.
OMG! Just STOP. A little girl is dead. All sex offenders should be castrated before their death sentence is carried out. Just the other day on this site people were defending the 3 time felon and the Mother who trusted him. You people still think Mom was right to drop the kids off? Wake up. I want to know who every sex offender in my area is and anyone he/ she hangs out with is cut from the same cloth in my opinion. This is still America and I have a right to my opinion. Hey guess what this piece of human waste is now a SEX OFFENDER.
What about the sex offenders that have not been caught yet. No registry for them. Do not let your small children out of your sight for a second. This world is full of perverts. What happened to the chain gang for criminals, instead of releasing them due to overcrowding. Put them to work, make them live in tents, farm their food and live like the animals they are! We have become a country of lip service. Maybe it is time for some vigilante justice. If someone hurt my child and I had the chance to take that person out, I would. I may go to jail for it, but that person would NEVER have the chance to hurt anyone again.
GROW A SPINE AMERICA! PROTECT YOUR FAMILIES AT ANY COST!
mo, yeeha !!! you hit the nail on the head in my opinion!!!
I think the whole justice system failed in this case. the man fled in Florida and was also an unregistered sex offender. He spent time in jail with grandpa, and now grandpa is dead. mom should have pack up her bags and left. or mom should have not, let this man watch her kids. It was stated in another article that grandpa knew the man was a child molester. Im sorry, there is much blame, but it will not bring back this little girl. she was taken advantage off because of her handicapp. Just last week, i saw a little girl in my neighborhood with a bunch of boys, and i told her mom about it. We had a young teen murdered last year in my city and it took a year too find her killer. there is way too much going on out here, we dont live in disneyland. the mom could have gotten some freakin theraflu, and tried to watch her kids.
Cygnus_X-1
Nice speech but you're going to create even more twisted personalities than we produce now. Instead of putting fear and loathing into our children's heads, why don't we just make sexuality a normal part of their education from age One so that they can recognise situations in which they would rather not participate and get out of them before they occur? And do this without giving them fear and loathing directly associated with sexuality? It is the fear and loathing that helps create these twisted personalities and America has so many because our own sexuality is so twisted by religion and our so-called 'morality'. All of the 'good' but 'not good' people you describe, such as coaches, et al, come from parents just like you and all other Americans. They are not just magically produced by some evil force. They are formed in the American milieu which, growing out of the Puritan and other zealot values that drove the first colonists here, is a mess of sexual contradictions such as little girls looking 'cute' dressed as prostitutes, punishment for wondering about their own plumbing, censored of all knowledge of the most central of their future adult concerns until their education at the hands of whatever. Our sexual environment is insane, and that we produce only as many of these sorts as we do is surprising. Until we heal our crazed and contradictory sexual values and readiness to do murder so well demonstrated in the comments here, we will have these people and adding yet more fear and loathing to the mix will only magnify the number of these crippled people and create more victims on both sides of the event. It will spiral. Diagnosing cancer is not curing it. I have no solutions except to say that adding more of what is creating the problem in the first place will not work.
Really now? How do you teach a 3 year old to tell mommy that someone molested her or him???
While I do agree that not everyone belongs on the sex offender registry...I can't help but also understand and agree that those with a probability of a repeat offense or worst should be labeled and revealed so those who could be potential victims are more vigilant and these offenders quickly investigated so hopefully they can be eliminated as persons of interests.
I am all for forgiveness a persons past not being held against them as they try to live life as a responsible, reformed person.
People do it all the time. They explain to their kids about "bad touching" and repeat the lessons until they are sure the children understand the concept. Of course, it take repeated effort, something a lot of American parents aren't interested in.
I agree with those of you that said that this isn't about the sex offenders in the trailer park. It is about the sub human scum that would destroy a troubled child. To publish anything to the contrary is to deflect the culpability from the perp to the parent and the place they lived. What ever happened to personal responsibility? He dismembered this child to cover up his crime, but was stupid enough to want to keep a "trophy" in his freezer. He will likely go for an insanity defense. Fortunately, that defense only works about 1% of the time. His actions to cover up the crime and lie to authorities definitely demonstrates that he knew what he was doing and that he knew it was wrong. The blame rests with the actor that made the decision to do this crime....The rest is just a negligence issue....Big difference in my book.
OLD Salt You should move to one of the Middle East countries that has an "IN-Justice" that you love so much instead of living here with human beings and polluting our Values.
AS FOR TEACHING a three year old about abuse - that is a good time to start but any parent who trust anyone else to be alone with their three year old is an idiot. My wife and I only had one baby sitter (a nice older lady) for our two boys before they were at least 10 years old. When the older one was six and the younger one was two. My wife and I went to a movie and when we returned two hours later the six year old complained so much about his brother being ignored by this stranger. That opened our eyes and we decided to take them with us or stay home with the boys until they were old enough to be with someone else. We missed a lot of FUN without them but had a LOT MORE FUN WITH THEM. Finally after they were 10 and 14 years old we hired a young "over" 18 year old neighbor a couple of times to stay with them. We raised two intelligent, respectful, kind, hard working men and they have raised our grand children the same way. PARENTS ARE a lot of the problem here. Read this story the mom moved into a trailer park full of known sex offenders to care for her sex offender, dad. WRONG SO WRONG! WHAT DID MOM EXPECT. Drop a child in a pit of poisonous snakes and be surprised that they bite. The sex offenders did not kill the child but the mom's judgement SUCKS Many people made predictions and I will make one as well: I would bet that one of the known sex offenders was involved in some way in this killing. Hope I'm wrong.
For all you, Jerry Springer, Trailer Trash, Un-American Constitution haters, who want to see this person executed without a trial. I hope that you or a loved one finds yourself in a simular situation when innocent. I'm not saying he is innocent other than as our system says "innocent until proven guilty in a trail". So he confesed but how many innocent people confess under duress from the police or due to mental illness. The police say that in many sensational crimes it is not unusal to get false confessions - often from the same people over and over again.
BE GLAD THAT OUR FOREFATHERS WERE SMARTER THAN YOU ARE.
To all parents who happen to be going through a tough time:
Your child's safety and well being must always be your top priority.
There must be someone in the area that can help these other families with children move out of this area and into another park.
sex offenders are everywhere... other trailer parks, middle class neighborhoods... rural neighborhoods... if you did a search of zip codes you would probably find 15 in the area you live in too. The parents were irresponsible by (a) not taking care of their own kids and (b) trusting a man with a criminal record to watch their 3 girls. What parent in their right mind wouldn't be suspicious of a man offering to babysit their little girls (or boys for that matter if you had boys)? We don't know if this man also molested the girl(s), it just hasn't been mentioned as a possibility because of the severity of the crime. He must have had some desire to hurt, torture and kill and targeted this defenseless little girl to please his sick psychotic needs.
Steven: The registered sex offender dont have nothing to do with this little girls death. And they shouldnt be mentioned at all. Maybe its them who are entering all the comments of this subject. Rest, Take it easy, no one is blaming the sex offenders in the trailer park, The killer has confessed, but that does not mean he did not molest or rape this little girl. and if he did he is a Sex Offender.
I have a bit of news for those of you who think that castrating a sex offender is the answer. It doesn't work. Why? Two reasons: 1. A violent offender will continue to offend even if they have to rape via instrumentation. It is the pain and suffering they get off on. 2. Those that are not violent...There is a huge black market in testosterone. They go through one door to get their Depo Provera (chemical castration) and out the back to get their testosterone injection. They can and do continue to have erections--even without testosterone if the stimulus is strong enough because it is the brain that controls the gonads as much as the gonads control the brain. That is the truth. Lock em up and throw away the key for any one that sees a child as a sex object--they are not rehabilitated--period.
One sick person. Unbelievable.
Sorry, john, no disrespect intended, but this man is not sick by any legal definition of the McNaughten's Rule. I'm not going to minimize his culpability by labeling him "sick." He is evil. Anyone that sees a child as a sexual object is just plain old evil...The old fashioned kind. I understand your opinion and respect it, but I just can't agree that he is sick so somehow that makes him less culpable. Just one person's opinion....
My God, what a sick disgusting person.
My advice is to the police is to move the straight 6 family's out of that park and put a prison fence around it with a guarded gate. keep an eye on those deranged bastard's.
Why? They had nothing to do with it.
Nice to see that the general public has barely any reading comprehension. maybe we should worry less about these sex offenders who aren't committing any current crimes and worry more about our education system (or lack there of)?
What? A convicted sex offender needs to CONSTANTLY be monitored. They will repeat their crimes. Anyone who sexually hurts a child should be executed. Period.
@jimmy
Yes, A convicted sex offender should be monitored one way or another. As you say they will do it again. Then why in hell let them go about with smile's on their face's and keep thinking, "Oh, where is my next conquest" "can't hardly wait"
Hey Jimmy have you ever had to take a piss outside, for example while camping? If you have, you sir are a sex offender. I hope they catch you before you hurt more people.
Please sign this petition to bring attention to child abuse in the US.
So the Mother had the flu and left her kids with this guy for a week? This man is sick, that poor baby, what hell she must have gone through before he finally killed her. I'm not blaming the parents, but really, as a Mother and Grandmother, I just would not feel comfortable leaving my kids or grandkids with a male adult who was simply a family friend. As far as the Sex offenders, I think they should build in every city, an apartment complex where these people must live after getting out of jail, or just keep them in jail period, Children are not objects, but yet that's what Sex offenders believe. God rest her sole.
You do realize that not all sex offenders have done anything to children?
You do realize that an 18 year old boy dating a 16 year old could be charged in some states?
You do realize that if you are drunk and pee in a bush, you could be put on the registry?
I don't care if the mother was sick, you don't leave 3 little girls with a man that was your father's caregiver. So big deal the stepfather had to sleep days, there's lots of folks living that life style and they don't farm the kids out. They had a home and should have been in it. There's lots of blame to go round on this one...
No, she doesn't realize any of these things. She, like most Americans want Judge Roy Bean to hang every potential offender from the nearest tree. Facts get in the way of a sterilized life, free of everyone and everything who MIGHT cause a problem.
Yeah, why not build concentration camps, and after we get tired of paying the expenses of all those inmates who no longer have any possibility of a functioning life, fire up the gas chambers and ovens.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Mandy-you hit it on the head. And let me add one more to your list. In Denver, Colorado a man was in his OWN home, happened to walk by a window, in his OWN home naked, and a woman jogging by called the police and now that man, in hiw OWN home is a sex offender. Not kidding you and not jerking your chain. In hiw own home, walking around naked, and he is now a sex offender. Yet, someone peering in HIS window is free without any charges. So, FYI to all you just because someone is a sex offender doesn't mean they harmed anyone. You really need to research it a little before you throw the book. That could have been anyone of you in your own home, naked. How would you feel?
Jimmy, I'm with you on this - the rapists, murderers and pedophiles should be hanged; society would be better off without these wastes of space.
Monkey, that is EXACTLY my problem with the registry.
I think its absolutely ridiculous that someone with absolutely no intention of harming anyone can be charged and suffer for the rest of their loves because someone couldn't handle seeing a dick, or the fact that their kid was dating someone, or whatever else they have going on in their heads.
I am apalled at what happened to this little girl. The worst offenses in this world are those againt the precious little ones. However, to say that every sex offender deserves to rot in prison for the rest of their lives or to force them all to live in the same guarded complex is EXTREMELY narrow minded. They are not ALL monsters. I'm married to one. He made a single mistake of touching-not raping- a young girl (nonviolently), when he himself was a minor who'd been beaten, abandoned, and neglected since he was a child. He spent ten years in prison for that single moment. And he will spend the rest of his life as a registerd sex offender; a "monster," "pedofile", "child rapist.", etc. He has been spat at, nearly raped himself in prison, taunted on the streets, denied work, scorned at church by so-called Christians, and so on. He is not, and will never be any of the things he's labled as. Most sex offenders are exactly what we all fear, but some will be forever victims of narrow-minded prejudice.
Remember your suggestion when wrongly convicted of any of those crimes.
All a girl has to do is say no and claim you kept touching her. Then your fate is in the hands of a jury that may very well side with the female. Next thing you know, you're being fitted for a noose.
Once a a child molester. Always a Child Molester, It does not go away like a cold, three days and your ok.
I woule like that these sick people only be executed, Death Penalty. Period. They will never change. Our system is too easy on them. Rehabilite yeah right. bull@!$%#. At least this one didnt get away. This poor little angel who is now in heaven, payed the price, of the ignorance (not poverty) of this family. May she rest in peace.
eestigirl:
You don't know what your hubby is doing 24 hours a day . . .
Why should law abiding citizens pay for these creeps. so they can be protected, eating 3 hot meals a day, television. and whatever. The laws have to change. Or Does Our Government Care Or Not???????????
Mr. President; Congress. House of Rep. Governors, and whoever can make this happen. Child Molesters should at the LEAST get life without parole, and in the event of death..TheDeath Penalty. We have to protect our innocent children. The future of America is Dying, being violated, day by day,and we just stand back and do nothing. Im so mad I cant even think straight. When I saw little Aliahas face on TV, I saw the face of a little girl smiling, jumping, playing, she looked like a little angel. How can anyone be so cruel, as to do what happened to this child?
Sex offenders who molest children should be put away for good. There is no cure for them. Under the umbrella of "sex offenders" are many who technically are not "Offenders" but are guilty of dating an under-age girl, etc. - we all know the different scenarios, but the true predator who stalks children is something else and they should be dealt with without parole - they don't get better - they are animals too vicious to walk among innocent people. They can't change, they can't be rehabilitated, they are animals preying on their victims - Put them away permanently where they can never attack an innocent child again.
kitti, and neither do you.
How about we just execute all convicted felons. That would also solve the prison overcrowding problem. and if we happen to execute a few innocent people, well, you can't make an omlet...
Our society stinks. We know there are many people out there willing to hurt a child or rape an innocent youg lady. Yet what is seen on the television is a disgrace. Also, look at how little women wear. Young girls go around looking like tramps. Hollywood is nothing but a bunch of women showing as much if not more than what they should be allowed to wear in public. Let us go back to the days when parents knew where their children were. You see young people out walking the streets at all times of night. You have gays in our schools and in our churches. We are all part of the problems. What has happened and is happening every day is due to the fact that we have no real decent movies or women who dress with pride, meaning the more they can show, the more attention it gets them. I go to school to pick up my grandchildren and come home sick and disgusting at the code of dress that is allowed. Kids walking down the halls with their arms around each other. It never used to be this way. We are all part of the reason things happen to innocent children. Look at the corruption in our government. It is all around us. My father used to say, if your not crooked when you gt elected to pubic office, you will be when you leave. Also. all newsreporting should carry a story only after they have all the facts. Otherwise we are to often moved to making accusations without real knowledge.
You lost me at
"You have gays in our schools and in our churches".
I'd rather not have you judging anyone's guilt or innocence.
I'm just saying.
I have no words for this.
I do Hang him, execute him, Death penalty.
based on the comments posted by the right wingers in the thread about the mall violence in Minnesota caused by Black youths - I assume they will also concede the point that - given the same logic - we can only assume all White males in their 30s are child rapists and killers right?
You can't assume your way out of a paper bag.
Nice strawman argument
Stop the Tea Party- You are a moron!
Like Bill Clinton?
Stoptheteaparty, it shows that scum comes in all colors! It also shows how liberals like you make it easy for people of all colors to have no fear of the law because liberals are afraid to treat criminals harshly enough that people would be too afraid to commit such a crime. Liberals like you are responsible for taking God, religion, and morals out of school. There is no fear of God in these people. Anybody that would want to StopTheTeaParty would no doubt be lacking intelligence since all they want is to get the nation back to the principles it was founded on. Rest assured, scum like this guy would get a swift trial and then be hung in public for all future potential criminals to see, thus making most of them think twice before they kill and dismember an innocent child.
so according to g gable, we must have a nation based on FEAR
I don't recalll where, in any of the founding fathers writings, we must base our society on FEAR
but FEAR does sell stories
@danwill not just fear but fear of GOD coming and striking them down. How about we start looking at why families have to have strangers or others watch their children. You know, republicans love to talk about their love of family but how are people supposed to make a living and support their families when they have to work 3 jobs a piece to make a living? Give people living wages, benefits and access to education and some of these problems would go away but instead we push that aside so we can go and invade other countries and tell them how to live when in the meantime our citizens suffer. You want families to stay together and for mom to be in the kitchen like June Cleaver again, then give people a good living wage job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great post StopTheTeaParty. This is just how whites operate. If a white person commits a heinous crime ("he was troubled, needs help or counseling, maybe he has a reason"), but let a browner person commit a equal or lesser crime ("they are predisposed to crime, inherently evil, illegals, thugs and scum").
It's a white thing. Luckily Mexicans will soon take over the US and do away with most whites as they command and conquer.
i believe people should fear the law for henious crimes. especially like this one, although a man as sick as this guy wasn't thinking about or didn't care about the consequeses of his crime. I don't believe we should be a nation of fear though, and I don't believe G.Gable was suggesting that at all. But if a person were to contemplate a crime such as this, knowing that being found guilty meant instant death, it just might cause reconsideration. hard to say
FEAR is also great for selling wars.
Albundy, how are the mexicans going to "do away with most whites" if they are not "predisposed to crime, inherently evil,..... thugs and scum"? You're brilliant.
The man that killed the girl has to be deal with, the rest of his sorry life in jail would work.... but what does this screaming headline have to do with this child's case?
If the offenders are registered and reporting what do they have to do with this death?
Nothing, but that's the state of the media these days. Anything to keep a story going. Don't worry, something else will crop up and they'll be on that like vultures on fresh roadkill. This story will fade into the past.
Sex offenders - you either get rid of them or keep feeding them victims. There is no middle ground. All the PC bleeding hearts have chosen to keep feeding them victims.
They killer wasn't a sex offender. Yet anyway.
um, yeah, cuz a sex offender committed this crime. you need to re read the article.
I know a guy who was put on that list because he dated a 17yr old when he was 21 and her parents filed a complaint. Now years later he is married to that girl and has children and their family will suffer for life due to that BS registry. The registry is meaningless. It's been abused by over zealous prosecutors with no regard for truth or public safety just trying to make a name for themselves. More politics gone wrong.
Yep, and we have teenagers on this list in Oregon because they were sexting their girl/boyfriends, who since they were also underage are guilty of 'child' pornography.
Maybe you should reread it before telling others to.
The article only stated that there are registered offenders in that park and Plumadore isn't registered as one nor has been convicted as such within the county that he resides in. Not that Plumadore is a registered offender in Allen County. Only this current crime falls within the definition.
This pert wasnt a sex offender before, But now he is, And all of you defending the registered sex offenders. this goes for you. All of the RSO from one day to the next, after commiting a crime, become .a RSO. And how do we know that this pervert hasnt commited more offenses elsewhere? Its very strange. cause when they start offending, they do not kill their victims. Only when they do it more than one time, they get more and more agressive, and then start killing the victims.
I don't understand the continued beating of the 'sex offender' drum. Did the 15 sex offenders kill her? NO, so what difference how many lived there?
BTW, Diana, 'living free'?? You mean living for free? or do you have a problem with them having served their sentences and being released? I'm not defending sex offenders, but our laws punish criminals and release them, according to those laws. How many serial thieves or batterers live in the area? Drug users?
RIP Angel girl
Cuz MSNBC can only offer fluff and filler. If you want REAL news, go elsewhere. Sex offenders had NOTHING to do with this crime. Shame on MSNBC for such profiling.
@vttova:
I understand your point and agree with you....until this fact: There is no way to 'rehabilitate' a sexual predator. Period. End of story. Sexual crimes have a pathology all their own and NO amount of incarceration or rehabilitation will ever shape a pedophile into a 'non-threat' for children. Stricter laws? Sure. Vigilante justice? Why not? Still won't change the 'wiring' of a legitimate R.S.O. So, does 'serving ones sentence' necessarily mean 'rehabilitated and good to go'? No, unfortunately not.
Ever consider that he is not a registered sex offender simply because he had never been caught?
American defender, I posted this earlier.
I don't see this man as a "predator". I don't see the offender who was drunk and peed in the bushes a predator. I know the ones you are speaking about, but what everyone is failing to see, and what vttova is saying is that the sex offenders DID NOT commit this crime and yet MSNBC is focusing on them. WHY???? They didn't do it. Why even make that your title of this article? If you want to focus on that write a different article. These offenders are being prosecuted ALL OVER again for something they had nothing to do with and regardless what you think of them that is wrong. And what you and a lot of others don't even know is what they did to get that title. Maybe they peed in a bush or walked around in their own home naked. Before you kill them all, think about it.
Monkeysnana:
Point understood. But, perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my observation so allow me to reword it to avoid any and all confusion: If a human being is predisposed to obtaining sexual gratification from violently imposing their will on another human...well, THAT person (statistically speaking) runs a higher risk of 'recidivism' than say the individual who is getting undressed in their bedroom. And, just for reference, I'm not alluding that this individual was a sex offender (registered or otherwise).....merely stating that STATISTICALLY SPEAKING....sexual predators have a higher rate of recidivism. Or will you argue that point, as well?
@AmericanDefender9:
Not sure where you got your information from, but the most recent study conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice shows sex offenders have the lowest rate of re-offence. Here's a link for any that care to read truth and fact as opposed to speculation and personal opinion,
@John Doe:
I base my info on law enforcement entities that I have worked with throughout this country in addition to medical professionals. Also, its based upon interaction with various victims rights groups/community resource alliances on Northern Minnesota reservations. I co-ordinated self-defense programs for their young girls and teens. Defense from who? Recidivist offenders. Where is this link that you referenced?
Your second comment does clarify your position more. I agree that a small percentage of sex offenders will not benefit from any rehabilitation or treatment program. As for the link, apparently I am unable to post links. A condensed version of the report is easy to find by searching Wikipedia for "sex offender recidivism". Links to various reports, including the Dept. of Justice can be found at the bottom of the article.
@AmericanDefender9
I googled the study John Doe mentioned and he is correct. That being said first time sex offenders who target children should given life sentences.
Okay, AD9 you are correct in the ability to truly rehabiltate a true pedophile. However, that term is used very loosely and describes many people who would never be diagnosed as such. Only a small percentage of those people on the sex registry are people who would would be considered a true pedophile. Our ever-inclusive SOR includes 10s of thousands of persons that are not pedophiles. People see ths irresponsibly written piece of trash and assume that all offenders listed in this park are pedophiles. While the recidivism rate for pedophiles may be high, the overall rate for sex offenders is about 4.8%, much less than murderers, robbers, drug dealers and all other violent crimes. If, as a society, we want to protect our children then there needs to be a risked based assessment performed on all offenders, not the current structure of the Adam Walsh Act. States such as TX, CA & NY have already realized this and have opted out of AWA.
Normandy, does that mean that you haven't been caught yet? Are you speaking from personal experience?
I'm sick to death of kids being killed by these weirdos and then they spend the rest of their lives in prison eating 3 meals a day, cable tv, getting an education and free medical care. It's time for us to wake up and execute these nuts no more than one week after they are convicted. Then we are supposed to care about the pain they go through, if the execution goes wrong. What the hell do you think these kids go through, knowing they will never see the families again. I don't care about the criminals pain. I don't care if his head pops off. We are not doing a very good job protecting our kids. If these nuts know they will be going through hell if the harm a kid. Maybe they will get the idea. What he did to the child should be done to him, except don't kill him first, dismember him first.
hmm, sounds like Sharia law.....wrong country??
I completely agree! I this man is convicted, I don't think our penal system has a punishment harsh enough for this kind of crime.
I agree until we get serious about getting tough on crime, we can expect more. Very simple, get back to swift justice. No more 15 years of appeals and a lethal injection that lets a criminal easy slip off into eternity. I say get the electric chair fired back up and put it to use. I don't care if these guys catch on fire or not.
Vttova, why do you defend sex offenders?
omg!!! yes please forget the trial, just throw him in jail and let the inmates handle the rest......scum bag...i wonder what was wrong with the mother, what was she sick from??? and didn't she bother to check on her kids not one single time????? i wonder what her problem is??? i know that in these times you can't even trust a family member, when it comes to your children!!!!! don't get me wrong, i'm definetly not blaming mom, but.....HELLO !!!!
now that i'm more pissed off, i'd like to add, just kill them off because they are never gonna change, and i don't want to have to pay for them to be in jail.....they can all burn in hell!!!! but then again, i'm not god!!!!!! just my opinion......
Rburn: My exact words. more or less. no mercy. he had none for Aliaha. I hate violence, but if this was my child,i would kill him myself. honestly.
I was commenting on the similarity of rburn's style of dealing with a criminal. It is hauntingly similar to Sharia law that everyone of the conservative ilk bitches about.
Just makes me say 'Hmmm'
OK, so by your own admission, via asking that ques, you feel qualified to comment upon a news story about which you know nothing?
She was sick w/ a bad case of the flu & it must've been pretty bad as I've read she was hospitalized.
Of course she *bothered* to check on her kids. It was how it was discovered the murdered girl was *missing*.
High fever? Chills? Sweats? Diarrhea? Vomiting? Coughing? Breathing issues? Medication wooziness? Take your pick.
No, you are blaming Mom.....hello!
Jeez, stop abusing punctuation.
The mommy had the flu, was not hospitalized. stayed at home, sent the kids over to her fathers. friends trailer. Father just recently died of ephysema, was a convicted sex offender. ive been commenting on this all day, dont think im going to get a good nite sleep. untill this creep is put away for life. or gets the death penalty. Wake up America. We have monsters taking our precious children away from us. We dont have to take this any longer. well i for one now am going to say Good nite. sweet dreams. yeah right.
What good is a Sex Offender Registry anyway? Probably gave the mother a false sense of security when she entrusted him to babysit her daughter. It seems to me that we do more harm than good with these silly registries. The real threats are the ones that are not registered - not the ones on the registry. It's about time that we stop these knee-jerk reactions to such horrible crimes. Even in this article, it almost implies that the registered sex offenders were ultimately responsible for this heinous action, when they had nothing to do with it at all. Why does this liberal media insist on taking this incident and decry all sex offenders when the criminal involved was not one? This is ridiculous reporting.
LIBERAL media? Are you drunk?
A liberal media would be defending all the perps, calling for rehabilitation instead of punishment. It is a conservative trait to paint all "undesirables" with the same broad brush, and to imply draconian responses are the only ones that can work.
What this is, is a corporate, ratings-driven profit machine. Accuracy is completely secondary, if it is on the agenda at all.
It IS the liberal media at work, MSNBC is the LIBERAL media hard at work. There is no arguing that is is poor journalism, and yes accuracy is secondary.
If it were a conservitive media outlet it would be no different at all.
My suggestion to everyone is to take away from all this the only fact of the story, a young girl was brutally murdered. Everything else is subject to assmptions.
When it comes to the atrocities of Mandatory Minimum Sentencing, the extreme right is to be blamed. Tired of the liberal judges and their soft on crime stance, Congress took control of the courts, abolished the 'hearing' and 'judging' by Judges, and put every case into the hands of the Prosecutors. All they have to do is find a single element of guilt ('were you naked? is it possible that strangers saw you naked') and people are thrown into prison, usually with lifetime supervision, profiling right along with the perverts who torture, rape, and ruin children.
It was the fear of Americans, that pushed for the Conservatives in Congress to pass the 'one size fits all' sentencing laws that have destroyed hundreds of thousands of innocent lives -- ruined individuals, families, businesses, and add to the over-crowding and high tax expense of incarceration.
Conservatives never consider the cost of their legislative actions but are the FIRST to scream and blame the "Liberal Media", "Liberal Judges" and just "Liberals" for the high cost, hate, collateral damage and all the other evil caused by conservatives. There is no more use in debating conservatives than there is in debating rocks. In fact a good number of rocks have been proven to be a lot smarter than a good number of conservatives are.
Did I read somewhere that the mom was in the hospital with the flu? I hope so, because there is no way I would allow my children to "stay" with another person I don't know intimately just because I was sick. And stepdaddy had to sleep? I have worked 48 hours straight and still come home to care for my kids so their dad can go to work. You just HAVE to put your kids first - always always always. May this precious child rest in peace, and prayers that the other two will get the care that they really need.
So... you have never used a babysitter?
Yep, used several of them. ALL were teenage girls trying to make a few bucks. I NEVER allowed a grown man to babysit my daughter - ever.
you missed my point, I wouldn't have a MAN watch my kids for a whole week just because I was sick, and when they could have been at home being quiet while their stepdaddy slept. Especially one with a criminal history, in a trailer park, apparently willing to leave the kids home alone while he goes to the store. I don't believe she vetted him enough to make a determination that he was safe. And not to be discriminatory, but I highly doubt I would ever leave my 3 young daughters alone with a man -sorry - better safe than sorry. And I have used babysitters, women and teenage girls, but NEVER for a whole week. A couple of hours and multiple phone calls. I am considered OVERPROTECTIVE and proud of it.
See, thats a problem in your own head
A woman can be a sex offender just as easily as a man can.
My favorite babysitter when I was little was a boy. Lots of boys and young men make great childcare givers.
Maybe you just used the teen girls because YOU liked to look at them, huh? (See, that's just as deranged as your own reasons for not allowing a boy to watch your kids.)
Mandy, you are just ignorant. I am a female and a mother of three, so NO - I don't like to look at teen girls . And I know full well that women can be molesters as well, but the reality is that more men than women do. You again are going off point - which is why did she need someone else to watch her kids when there were two grown adults in her home to watch them, sick or not? But you obviously just want to make false accusations insteading of addressing the question at hand. Have a nice life, and get some therapy, you obviously need it.
dans mom, i'm with you, i said the same thing...what kind of sick was mom? and why didn't she check on her kids...
mandy definetly needs therapy!!! there is no rehabilitation for this very, very act of evil.....mandy, it sounds like you are defending this guy....why??????
dans mom, I don't think she was in the hospital. I have only read that she was sick with the flu. If that's the case I agree with you 100%!!! A WEEK!! Are you kiddin me? I had 5 kids under 6 years old and a bout of pneumonia. It didn't occur to me to get a sitter because I don't feel well. Something seems odd to have a sitter for a WEEK with the flu!
I think the background of the mom is probably not too stellar. Obviously her dad had issues, where is a grandmother, aunts, etc? There's a reason the child had "post traumatic stress"... and why partially blind and deaf? Was or is the mom a drug addict? Did the mom work? She knew NO ONE from her workplace who could help? Social services? Some people just should not have children.
Interesting how the child actually had 3 parents....a biological mother, a biological father, & a stepfather....but yeah, let's lunge for the only one w/ the uterus & snark all over her ass. Having a daughter murdered isn't punishment enough for her, according to some.
I wasn't making false accusations. I said it to make a point, and even pointed out that I was doing so. And yes, mothers of three can still like to look at teen girls.
That "more men do than women" has nothing to do with who you individually choose to watch your children. This guy was a trusted family friend.
Why does ANYONE need someone else to watch your kids? Its either because you are currently incapable or wish to go out to a movie or something. I think you need to calm down.
Obviously you didn't read the whole thread. I was only commenting on the fact that dan's mom claims to NEVER EVER use a male babysitter, because, "my gosh, think of the children, men are dangerous". When really, that is ridiculous to say that men can't watch children. I said nothing about the guy at all actually.
I am a man, 64 1/2 years old and am a nice guy. I love children and have two granddaughters, 8 and 18 y.o. and a 3 y.o. grandson. I would be shocked if any of my friends or any of my sons' friends were to ask me to babysit a day for their young girls or boys for that matter. I know I'm safe but how would they know as they would never know what is in my heart. I do agree with the women here who would ask my wife to care for their children for a week faster than they would ask me for an hour or two. Yes, there are a few women who are child abusers but there are so so many men. I would also be afraid to care for little girls that are not blood relatives because if anyone accused me of anything wrong I would suffer forever and would not be able to defend myself. It may be unfair but there is a lot of evil out there and the first priority is that we must protect children.
Does anyone but me find this so very sad? Not only that parents are terrified to trust the men they know, but that decent men are terrified to be in a position where they could be falsely accused and have no defense, and it is true; they would have no defense; the word of a child is all that is needed for charges to be brought and lives destroyed. But back to the sadness; how much have we lost in this sex offender hysteria? When I was a kid, we were constantly at each other's houses for sleepovers and "camping" in tents in back yards in the summertime. Were we less safe then from potential danger? I don't know, but the world has lost something, and I don't know if we will ever get it back. And, statistically, caring for young children who are relatives is as much or more potentially risky as for those who are not. Over half of children under six who are sexually molested are victims of close relative.
There's a whole trailer park with a number of them; and they clearly haven't re-offended. What did they do again to earn your unforgiving wrath? If they were sucking in neighborhood children like Hansel and Gretel's gingerbread house then we could make that argument, but...
Then I'm sure winsettz you wouldn't mind placing your children in their care, right?
fights....the killer was NOT a sex offender! This story is being diverted, as to winsettz point.
he wasn't a registered sex offender but that doesn't mean he didn't molest her or others. We may never know.
@winsettz:
No, we don't 'clearly' know that none of them have re-offended. Usually that kind of info comes out after the fact.
The point winsettz is making and you are all ignoring is THEY DIDN'T DO THIS CRIME. And yet, the article title is focused on them and not the real monster who did do it. Geez people, read what the post is. You are all so focused on the one's who didn't do it, and not the one who did do it.
That, or they're focused on stoning Mom.
How dare she get really sick after breeding? Mothers need to be perfect! I'm a mom, & I'm always perfect!
Pfffft.
So based on this logic we should lock everybody up because" we never know."
I think we can all agree that there's a special place for sex offenders of children. Its pretty bad when even the most hardened criminals can't tolerate them.
Sex offenders need to be held in a concentration camp and starved to death.
I agree with you totally.
George, what kind of sex offenders? Or just all?
Don't walk around your house naked. You might be charged.
Mandy...give it a rest girl. We got your point like 12 posts ago.
This is ignorance talking when you categorize all sex-offenders as perverts! This is old-fashioned, head-in-the-sand, biased, judgmental and totally wrong!!
Aren't you educating yourself? Read John Grisham's book THE INNOCENT MAN, for example.
Our prisons are filled with falsely accused individuals and here you are, supporting the most corrupt criminal court system in the world, as if they were right, fair, and just! People who talk with such ignorance are the ones who perpetuate these stereotypes!
Well said Carole. I'm sick to death of these old people sitting around on a computer passing judgement on everyone and their dog. We have a judicial system. Florida is well known for being a death penalty state. This guy was not even a sex offender prior to this and we don't know if he was now. He may just be a killer. Either way the hysteria every time someone MSNBC runs an inflammatory headline people go totally insane. I have two daughters. I understand the outrage. I'm not against the death penalty. But I wonder how people would feel if out of nowhere someone accused them of being a pedophile. That's all it takes today. Be accused. Even if you're never charged, never convicted, didn't do it, it doesn't matter. IDIOTS are going to find you guilty regardless. That's not America. That's a lynch mob and I want no part of lynch mobs.
SweetAZ if they got Mandy's point they would not continue to blame the S.O. WHO DID NOT KILL HER!!!!
if this creep is indeed the guilty one i hope he gets the max, whatever it is.
This killer needs to go away for life
It's unconscionable that a parent would leave her child with some neighbor guy in ANY neighborhood!
It's always the Babysitter.
So cheryl... you dont think guys should be babysitters?
this 'some neighbor guy' had cared for the mother's father until his death, and now occupied the father's home. Sounds like a trusted family friend.
Having cared for folks in their dying days, the families would trust me with their lives or their children...
He betrayed her! Stop blaming the victim!
why would this guy with a criminal record be trustworthy to care for an aging parent - and how do we know he didn't try to get in with this family because he fantasized about molesting the girls?
The victim is the child, who was not protected by her family.
Trust is what a pedophile uses to gain access to your children. NO ONE should be IMPLICITLY trusted with your child.
If you see nothing wrong with leaving your children with a man who lives in a trailer, PLEASE do not have children.
Vttowa: For whatever reason many readers (or non-readers) are missing that crucial point. That point being, "he was a family friend." If we can't trust a friend then why bother with friendships?
Mandy, NO, I don't think MOST men can be good, sound of mind, patient babysitters. I especially wouldn't trust a grown man who was unrelated to my children.
Vttowa: Who's to say he and the dying grandfather weren't sharing molestation stories? The grandfather was a convicted child molester.
Then why would you want to make them fathers? What makes you think a teenage girl is a good, sound of mind, patient babysitter?
So the point of this is that more women are feeding into the notion that all men are scumbags and shouldn't ever be trusted. That is the overall impression that I'm getting here.
I have done the stay at home dad gig before and there was a period where I was babysitting for a couple of my neighbors because it was convenient for them to drop the kids off and not have to drive out of their way, because they had work or errands that needed to be done, and because it was much cheaper for them seeing that I didn't charge them anything.
With that being said - It is very sickening to listen to others continue to make statements that are degrading to men by stating that they shouldn't be trusted with children or that they are prone to be cheaters or that they are more prone to become offenders of any type.
Just because there have been more charges filed against men for such crimes doesn't mean that women don't do their fair share either - but from what it sounds like on here many posters would dig hard to find an excuse to pity the woman and turn it on the man. I work in a hospital and have seen more than my share of men coming in that have been beaten up, abused and violated from women. I've met more than enough people that have indicated that it was the woman of the relationship that was cheating.
So enough already with this B.S. that all men are bad and that all women are victims here. This article does nothing but further glorify the way that our society places judgement upon others by continuously highlighting the fact that there were a high number of sex offenders in the neighborhood. It was pointless to do so unless each and every one of those offenders were involved in the case - kinda sounds like many of the posters on this thread got their writing styles from the author.
This guy did something wrong and he should be punished for it. Let's address that and leave all the other offenders out of it unless they had something to do with it. - Let's stop the teeny bopper idea of lumping all men into the category of being scumbags when other women are out there doing the exact same thing!
Thank you My Thought, My thoughts exactly.
:-)
Mandy - you're welcome.
Or the Butler Sally
The fact that the mom and kids lived in a trailer park tell you what their living conditions and income status is. She didn't have much anyway, just saying.
Thats a little ridiculous. I have plenty of friends who live in trailer parks.
What, so just because someone lives in a trailer park rather than blowing all their money on @!$%# to impress you, they aren't worthy of life?
Just because someone lives in a trailer park doesn't mean they don't have a nice home. A trailer doesn't mean you are up to your ankles in trash.
Maybe you should get out of your Mercedes that daddy bought you and learn something about the real world
Again, maybe WE as a SOCIETY need to realize that a rising tide lifts all boats and if people had jobs with decent wages maybe mom or dad would be able to be with the kids. WE as a SOCIETY need to get a handle on men and figure out why so many men beat, rape, and molest women and children. THAT IS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM!
Sally that is very much the stupidest thing I have ever read. Just because someone lives in a trailer park does not make them bad people. Wow!! That is a low blow to ALL people who live in a trailer park. Very judgemental of you. I suppose you live in a multi-million dollar home high on the hill, one to go with your opinion of "trailer park people"???
HELLO!!!! mandy, are you really that ignorant? or do you like 'certain sex offenders???? holy crap!!!! a sex offender is a sex offender!!! and a child-sex offender is by far the worst....you definetly need help!!! i'll tell ya , i pitty the fool that ever ever lays a unwelcomed finger on my kids, or any other kid that i can possibly help, they would be begging to be thrown to the wolves, so help me god!!!!....hey mandy, do me a favor, and shut up!!!!!
Monkeysnan: I had to chuckle at your comment. I've never lived in a "trailer park" but I did live in a trailer for over 20 years (two actually; landlord replaced first one when it became infected with termites). Not the greatest house: no heat or A/C and kind of shabby but the location was spectacularly beautiful, the rent was reasonable, my landlord was an OK guy, and I didn't care about the amenities. I decorated the place, had a vegetable garden and got to see herds of deer, the occasional bobcat, mountain lion, fox, etc. in a nice quiet space with a view that was killer beautiful.
One day at work, a group of people got to talking about trailer residents; I don't remember why but it was one of those conversations where everyone starts to pile on with comments. The company receptionist happened to walk by and heard some of those comments. She was a really sweet, 60ish woman just about to retire and had purchased her first "home" -- a trailer in a nice park; it was all she could afford and she was thrilled to finally have her very own place, however humble.
I saw the look on her face as she passed and heard those harsh comments and my heart hurt for her. A trailer was all she could afford and, quite frankly, a lot of them are pretty darn nice.
As the banter progressed, I got a little upset and quietly said, "I live in a trailer." The looks on the faces of those coworkers and the speed at which that group disbanded was hilarious to me. My boss was one of the leaders of this little dialogue and he was mortified when I said it.
The point of this digression is that we shouldn't focus on why this particular family is living in the trailer park. They just are. Maybe they like it; maybe it's all they can afford; maybe their support system has been there; whatever.
A child has been horribly murdered by someone the family trusted. It has nothing to do with where they all live.
Oh, and yes. None of the registered sex offenders who live in that community have been implicated. The "...Haven..." headline is redick sensationalism -- THEY didn't commit the crime, as far as we know.
Can we stick with the facts? Stop labeling people based on where or how they live? Show some compassion? Good grief.
It's not where we live, or how we live. It's who are we and how we build our own communities.
MANDY!!!! i would love talk to you in person because i would definetly show you a couple of knuckles
heck i still live in my mom's basement! a trailer is a huge upgrade for me!
rena, reported for CoH violations, #22.4 & #22.6.
Hello Rena. Want to point out to me where in post 22.1 where I said anything about the guy or the sex offender? That post was a response to Sally's ignorant comment about people who live in trailer parks. And no, I don't think I will shut up, because I don't owe you any favors today.
Again, not sure what is spurring this violence. Really I think it is coming down to a lack of reading on your part.
Rena - I'm curious on what your thoughts are on the women who murder their own children. The statistics will show that more women do this then men. I'm curious on your thoughts on the women who kidnap their children and then do whatever is necessary to keep them hidden - because I'm sure that you could label this as a form of abuse. I'm also curious on your thoughts are of the women that abuse and victimize men - because this also happens. ...or do you only have a bias that all men are bad and all women can do no wrong?
Mandy, I have agreed with almost everything you have said but not with your smack-down on Sally from Chicago. As she said, normally trailer parks are occupied by low-income people. (I'm not talking about the retirement home type of trailer park) but I, and Sally are talking about the low- income trailer parks as the one that Sex-Offenders would live in. By the way when I was first married we bought a trailer and lived in a nice clean trailer park but it WAS occupied by LOW-INCOME people (not meaning LOW-CLASS although there were a few low-class people there) and my mother lived in one when her husband died and she became too ill to work. I read Sally's post as a defense of the child's mother and will agree with her on that point.
The need to wear something similar to what the Jews wore in Nazi Germany so people know why they are such as a skull or a sign indicating they are sex offenders.
cut off their nose or ears as an id mark.
That's right. We should convert America into a Nazi empire. Brilliant.
Let conservatives realize all their dreams, and it will be.
George Ferenzi, I devoutly hope your comment was intended to be sarcastic, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't. I have to say, people like you terrify me. People here have proposed killing people without a trial, putting them into concentration camps and starving them to death, setting them on fire, dismembering them, etc. Does the Constitution of the United States, ostensibly the most civilized country in the world, mean nothing? Except for the sacred second amendment of course.
Casatrate the son of a *(_(()(*&^ . dont make me laugh. the U.s. the most civilized country in the world. ? we are the country with more criminals encarcerated, than any other country. Violent criminals, Rapists, Murderers. and every crime there is. Our prisions are overcrowded. We have to build more prisions, bigger ones.
George, Your comments are harsh indeed however, what gets me is that this person will plead NOT GUILTY. Why? He said he did it. Why should people be able to do that? They might confess or in other circumstances they have been recorded (audio or visual) and they still say NOT GUILTY. I don't think people should be allowed a trail if you have 100% evidence (or confession) that they did it. I think THAT'S messed up. There was a man in Miami last week who was recorded beating a man in a convienent store with a sledge hammer. YES, a sledge hammer. They had him on video doing it. He pleaded NOT GUILTY. WTF? Call me stupid.
Brooke, perhaps you missed the chapter where we studied about police brutally and the forcing of innocent people to confess a crime. Well that was not in History class it was in Current Events. Yes, some terrible police will coerce a confession when they believe they have the guilty person or in some cases when they just want to close a case. News articles report far too often when District Attorneys try to convict people whom they know to be innocent. In fact in so many of these cases the DA will withhold evidence that they know proves the innocence of the accused. In most cases no action can be taken against these DAs. They cannot even be sued by their victim, the wrongfully accused. When we realise that bad cops and bad DAs must not be protected and change the laws protecting these criminal bastards. I propose that when a cop knowing coercers a wrongful confession or when a DA knowingly prosecutes an innocent person the bad cop or bad DA be tried and if convicted be given the maximum sentence that the innocent could have gotten. Yes if a bad cop or bad DA's wrongful actions could result in a death penalty they should get that punishment. My rational is that when a bad cop or bad DA steps over that line they are no longer doing their sworn duties but are actually are trying to wrongfully put a innocent person to death or to wrongfully imprison an innocent person. I'm not discussing one who makes a mistake but one who knowingly prosecutes an innocent person.
What could this poor child ever do that anyone could do this to her,I'm telling you soft on crime people its time to end these sick peoples problem and end their wasted lives, never allow one of these people to harm another child, end their ability to breath and walk the earth.
When our children aren't safe then how can they have a future, these people can only be cured by death!
Rapest, child molesters need to be killed and removed from ever harming any of us,they have no place with us!
Wise up before its one of your family members on the news as a victim,no more kids glove end these sick people now!
My guess is the perp was on meth....a druggie...what else to explain this crime?
what else to explain this crime?
The scar on the side of his head maybe? Thats a pretty big indicator of brain trauma, which could just as easily be the "explanation". :)
Sally, my guess is all of the adults involved are crackheads.
Sally in Chicago: Something tells me you are a snobby #itch. Got just enough money to stay out of a trailer court, but not enough to make it to the top of the hill.
Maybe we can all pray that jesus will heal all the sex offenders, and they can be forgiven. and if we have the faith of a mustard seed, it will be done. it's that simple. just ask gingrich, bachman, or palin, they believe in the healing power of prayer.
OR
Maybe we need a better justice system that does't allow the conviction of innocent people just because the prosecution has better lawyers. Then and only then can we have a better system of punishment, like DEATH to the guilty.
Hawk, see my post just above here. Same idea I think.
The only part about the sick sex offenders that belong in this story is WHY the Mom chose to live in this trailer park? I'd do anything in my power to NOT live there. Especially with 3 kids! And have a friend that lives there watch your 3 girls while you're sick? Yes, I know a sex offender didn't do this crime. But, why would you want to live around that when you have 3 little girls?!
This guy is sick and disgusting. Makes me want to puke.
I don't think people choose to live in trailer parks, they can't afford to live elsewhere.
Someone mentioned above that urinating in a deserted dark alley or skinny dipping in a remote lake could get you on the sex offenders list. They are correct. So until we change the laws that were written by the holier than thou puritan legislators, and fix our antiquated court system, we will never solve the problem. Although, the way the courts, enforcement and prison system is today, a huge profit center industry, why change, just let it grow bigger and more expensive to the taxpayers.
I live in a"trailer'' lee, in a "trailer park" in south west fl. in the winter mo's. my lake front lot rent is $1200.00 a month, and then also, the payment on my "trailer"; I would not be surprised if the %s of sex offenders in my "trailer park" were as high as the ones in this one. sort of a narrow minded stereotype, if you get my meaning.
I looked up the sex offender list within a five mile radius of my street there were 96 people on there, of that 96, SIX were actual child molesters the rest were basically peeing in public and judging by the dates and the age of the victims (yeah I did a bunch of math today) the rest of them were 18-19 year olds who had 16-17 year old "victims" If we're going to have a registry let's make it where only violent and actual child molesters are on it.
It is tragic that someone has been murdered, but what does the history of those who ARE NOT ACCUSED of the crime have to do with anything? The man accused of the crime is not a convicted sex offender nor is there any evidence presented in the article that the crime had a sexual element to it. Sadly, this article does not report the news; it is a blatant attempt to make news. What is even more frightening is the number of people who bought into the misdirection put forth in the article. This is the same kind of mindlessness that allows dictators such as Hitler to come to power. This worries me more than the convicted sex offenders do.
Thank you, Zoss - I couldn't have stated it better myself. This crime had NOTHING to do with the number of sex offenders living in the trailer park. And - here's a news flash - people who have been in jail or prison probably aren't earning a huge salary. Trailer parks and apartment complexes are home to MANY types of criminals - mostly for financial reasons. Why the shock? Oh yeah, because the writer went for the shock value. Apparently the murder and dismemberment of a child isn't bad enough.
TO: 1SGFitzsWife4ID I've read your posts before and seem to almost always agree with you. Maybe it's because my ID could be 1stSgtRetiredaftr27yrs. Keep up the good fight!
She was there taking care of her sex-offender father. Unfortunately, someone as filthy as her father got to the kid. Karmic justice??? I am sorry to hear that this child is dead. Just wondering when people are going to start making good choices when it comes to keeping their kids safe.
